Quickview:

It is hard to put into words the true numismatic significance of this 1881 Silver Proof Set.  With so many finest known coins in this gorgeously matching set, it is truly one of the nicest vintage silver proof sets in existence.  The entire set exhibits great blues, purples and various shades of orange.  Having been kept together so long without any incident to any of the coins makes this set a true treasure.

1881 T$1 Trade Dollar PCGS PR 67+ CAMEO CAC
Simply put, the finest known 1881 Trade Dollar. The single 67+ for the date in all designations, this coin exhibits a bit lighter toning obverse allowing the cameo to really pop.  With small amount of original orange on the obverse and reverse, the originality of this coin is truly incredible.  A proof only issue - this coin is the best of the best. CAC approved!

1881 $1 Morgan Dollar PCGS PR 68 CAMEO
This coin is the second finest known for the year.  Pop 1, one finer. Ridiculous, original, old school, Wayte Raymond-like toning is the best way to describe the coin. The mirrors are quite reflective and have plenty of pop!

1881 Liberty Seated Half Dollar PCGS PR 67 CAMEO CAC
The finest known 1881 Seated Half - this coin exhibits much greater originality than any of its 66 CAM counterparts.  Pop 1. Deep rich blues practically float around the surfaces of the coin becoming orange as you progress toward the center.

1881 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar PCGS PR 67 CAMEO CAC
This coin is tied for the second finest known with only one coin graded higher.  The obverse of the coin is closely related to the Trade Dollar with that deep orange covering the majority of the coin.  The reverse, like the Trade Dollar, has more toning with a deep blue in the center.

1881 Liberty Seated Dime PCGS PR 67 CAC
Another tied for second finest known with only 2 finer by a plus graded, the dime has the most blues of any coin in the set.

1881 Shield Nickel PCGS PR 67 CAM CAC
Tied for second finest known with only one 67+ graded, the shield nickel has a light pastel orange color that flashes through.

1881 Three Cent Nickel PCGS PR 68 CAC
Tied with 2 other coins for the finest known. The Three Cent Nickel is the “throw in” for the set.  It is nearly flawless, and neat to have a Proof 68 coin in the set.

1881 Indian Head Cent PCGS PR 67 RED
Tied for the finest known with two others this coin has a nice bright red obverse with a deeper purple patina showing on the reverse.
